Video: 2 Chainz & Lil Wayne – Long Story Short

The release of Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz’s collaborative album Welcome 2 ColleGrove is getting closer. The seasoned rappers unveiled their newest song and music video, “Long Story Short,” on Friday, November 10. The song is a sumptuous three-minute composition about living life to the fullest.

The video, which was directed by Maya Table, features Weezy and Tity Boi flaunting their two gorgeous Mercedes coupes. Additionally, “Long Story Short” features a clip from Project Pat’s “Out There.”

Wayne handles the opening hook, spitting, “Wake up, light the blunt I put out ‘fore I fell asleep/ My b**ch look like she Cherokee, my crib look like I’m sellin’ keys/ My d*ck feel like some therapy, ’bout that life, I guarantee/ You livin’ life vicariously, this life gon’ be the death of me.”

Next, 2 Chainz enters with a verse about juggling work and family obligations. “A+ off in parenting, get my kids damn near everything/ ‘Fore you get a wedding ring, better get her a** a belly ring/ Soon as I start trappin’, man, my phone, it wouldn’t even barely ring/ I don’t compete, but you can’t compete/ Plain Jane, Patek Phillippe/ I’m with my lady, we came to eat,” he raps.
