Video: Big Freedia – Rent

Even though it is not yet the first of the month, Big Freedia wants you to be aware that the payment for the rent is unquestionably due TODAY.

The one and only Queen Diva is back with a twerktastic new music video for her most recent track “Rent.” This high-energy single is Freedia’s calling card, and it will be included on her next extended play (EP) titled Third Ward Bounce. The native of New Orleans has had it up to here with people who are living “rent-free” in her mind, heart, and spirit. She is certain that those squatters are kicked out of her space with the assistance of bounce music, some fantastic performers, and a little bit of chaos.

This song is dedicated to all of those people in our lives who are always taking but never giving anything in return, and this song is for them. Pay your rent! yells out the featured artist from the song “Formation.” The film that Freedia’s famed Shake Team contributed features, without a doubt, a good deal of booty-shaking, so don’t be surprised if you see a lot of it. Just like the song, the music video is liberating and hilarious.

In addition to completing her swing through the United States and embarking on a tour of Europe, Freedia will be playing at a wide variety of events, including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the New York City Pride, the Kentucky Pride, and many more. On June 1st, her EP will be released by Asylum Records and be available for purchase.
