Video: BJ The Chicago Kid & Coco Jones – Spend The Night

BJ With their duet, “Spend The Night,” The Chicago Kid and Coco Jones are bringing soul music back into R&B. The duo has finally released the music video for their uplifting collaboration, weeks after the single’s release.

A love trance overtakes BJ as he daydreams about the woman who has caught his attention—the “ICU” sensation—in an old-fashioned diner. The movie, which was directed by Tajana Tokyo, shows off their contagious enthusiasm as they consult their individual buddy networks to decide who should initiate contact first.

The highly anticipated new album by BJ, “Spend The Night,” will be released later this year. “Spend The Night” is the third song from the album. It came after “Liquor Store In The Sky” with Freddie Gibbs and “Forgot Your name?” from the album.

The crooner said in a statement that his duet with Jones departs from his usual style and that music is like a journey: “With our new song, we’ve taken an exciting diversion from our typical sounds. It is an endeavour that is experimental. Sometimes you have to veer off the beaten route to come across a brand-new creative realm.

“Working with BJ was such a fantastic experience,” Jones continued. The passion of artists always inspires me so much. With our combined tones, I believe this song is very unique.

Yeti Beats, BJ’s partner in production and the creative force behind the record, revealed that “Spend The Night” was influenced by vintage soul duets and gushed over how perfectly BJ and Coco’s vocals mesh on the classic groove.
