Video: Blk Odyssy – Benny’s Got A Gun feat. Benny the Butcher & George Clinton

The growth in popularity that BLK ODYSSEY is seeing right now is comparable to that of VIBE: NEXT. His smokey musicality, which is interspersed with philosophical reflections, has earned him a devoted fanbase since he was born in New Jersey under the name Juwan Elcock.

ODYSSY released his debut album, titled “BLK VINTAGE,” in August of 2021. The album serves as an emotional illustration of the complexity of the Black experience. Since then, the soul musician has kept his audience enthralled by releasing a slew of songs that provoke deep thinking, beginning with the single “COMPLEX OF KILLING A MAN” in March 2022, which recounts the events leading up to a murder in the past tense. After a wait of three months, BLK ODYSSY has released yet another track that is perfectly timed.

On his next track, which is aptly titled “BENNY’S GOT A GUN,” BLK ODYSSEY teams up with Benny the Butcher, who hails from Buffalo, and George Clinton, one of the most iconic funk musicians of all time.

“BENNY’S GOT A GUN” is the second single that is featured on BLK VINTAGE REPRISE, which is an expansion of BLK ODYSSEY’s 2021 debut album featuring an additional six songs. This song examines the pain that is caused by gun violence as viewed through the eyes of inner-city adolescents. Along with the song, the newly released track contains a video that is described as “part 1” and follows a boy who returns with a gun for revenge after being beaten up by local gangs.
