Video: Ciara – JUMP ft. Coast Contra

Ciara has returned with a high-octane music video for her most recent hit, “Jump.” The singer, songwriter, and businesswoman who has won a Grammy offers tonnes of nostalgic Ci Ci vibes in the new visual, from some of her trademark dance movements to even dancing on top of a car again – hence the title of her 2019 video for “Ride.”

The music video for “Jump” transports us to a simpler time, when watching music videos was more like having an adventure. From a wardrobe change featuring 14 different outfits to breathtaking scenery, choreographed dance routines, and fascinating graphic effects, this video has it all. There is no doubt that Ciara and Missy Elliot are still very close.

A younger version of Ciara appears at the beginning of the music video directed by Dave Meyers, when she is a member of the cheering squad as they demonstrate the “Jump” cheer. They sing the following chants: “You like it when I make that thang jump, You go “Wow” when I make that thing jump/ It gets loud when I make that thing jump, It’s a party when I make that thing jump.”

After a brief sequence depicting high school sports, the action cuts to Ci Ci twerking in the middle of a parking lot filled with low riders. She has red curls in her hair and is wearing black shorts with cutouts from Thrifts + Threads that show off her derriere in a classy manner as she leaps. Following the cut to a scene on a rooftop, Ciara continues to demonstrate her impressive dance skills while dressed in an all-black attire and wearing knee-high trainers. Even the signature “Ciara walk” from her “Goodies” music video is included in her performance.
