Video: Doja Cat - Vegas

Doja Cat is keeping her fans satisfied as she heals from the tonsil surgery that she had in May by releasing a sparkling new song that was inspired by the city of sin. A single that will be included on the upcoming Elvis soundtrack, “Vegas” has an interpolation of “Hound Dog,” in which the lyricist, who was nominated for a Grammy, calls out dishonest guys who would rather keep their dirty laundry hidden.

Doja Cat warns the canines she’s dated that she’s losing her patience, that “This ain’t stayin’ in Vegas,” that “There’s more sides to the story,” and that “I’ma tell everybody.” Doja Cat cleverly flips the mantra of Elvis Presley’s home away from home to convey her message.

Austin Butler plays the title role as “The King of Rock and Roll” in Elvis, and equally royal Black contemporaries B.B. King and Little Richard are portrayed by Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Alton Mason, respectively. Elvis is directed by Garry Marshall. Tom Hanks, winner of an Academy Award, portrays the role of Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis Presley’s manager.
