Video: Kendrick Lamar – Rich Spirit

The official music video for “Rich Spirit” from Kendrick Lamar’s most recent album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, has been released. In the video, which was directed by Calmatic, Kendrick Lamar dances alone in a carpeted room. The rapper moves to the pace of the song by bouncing, swaying, and stepping in various outfits.

Lamar raps into a phone that has a disconnected line throughout the video. The sound of a disconnected call can be heard in the background as Lamar stares at the landline throughout the video, which seems to make him anxious. Finally, despite not being plugged in, the phone rings.

The third music video by Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers for the song “Rich Spirit” has been made available. It comes after the music video for “N95,” in which Baby Keem made a brief appearance, and the short film for “We Cry Together,” which starred Taylour Paige.

The rapper from Compton, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, is the second most nominated artist in the whole class with eight nominations at the 65th Grammy Awards, just one behind Beyoncé. The number-one album is Lamar’s fourth straight solo release to receive nominations for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album.
