You never really know what to expect from a new rap diva like Lola Brooke in terms of the genre of music that she will release next. After posting up and delivering a raw verse alongside a group of attractive gangsta women rappers off the On The Radar Ladies Night cypher, Brooke is able to alter it up and give a love letter themed sonic shot like “On My Mind.”

Brooke adds her own unique take on gangster love to the timeless tune “You’re Always On My Mind,” which was first recorded by SWV in the 1990s and became a huge hit. “When I recorded ‘On My Mind,’ I wanted people to know that Lola Brooke is a fan of love. That was my intention when I was in the studio. “There are many facets to who I am, and making music is my way of expressing that,” Brooke explains in her native Brooklyn, New York accent. “It’s my way of letting it all out.”

The smoothness of the tune was produced by Semi Beatz, Tsunami, Trellsettaz, and Wmarcos. The visual for the video goes perfectly along with the smoothness of the sound, with the fade in and outs of the bangle-earring wearing Brooke, stroking her romantic lead in up-and-coming HighBridge The Label rapper Lil Rekk. “I want this track to connect with couples or anyone that’s crushing on someone, but don’t know how to express their love,” Brooke explains. “It’s hard to find the right words sometimes.” “This is the song you play when you’re driving back home after a date night,”
