Respect for the music is one thing, but respect for the creativity is something quite other and more important. The completely new visuals that Nick Lotto created with director Nick von Gremp combine the two in an outstanding way. We are first introduced to Nick Lotto in the vignette of a video titled “NvG Presents: Nick Lotto,” in which Lotto takes a stroll through his Harlem neighborhood. As he brags about being up next to bat, he draws you in with a combination of hues that makes your head spin, faces that are distorted, and a complete disregard for gravity.

Although it is undeniably a hip hop track, “Boom Bap” isn’t the only style that Lotto is capable of producing musically. “Although this track is based on hip hop, I’ve been experimenting with many other genres and see not much reason in remaining in a one-lane approach,” he said in a statement. “Although this track is based on hip hop, I’ve been experimenting with many other genres.” In addition to singing and playing the drums, bass guitar, guitar, and keyboard, the rapper has a few more tricks in his sleeve.
