Video: Spice, Sean Paul, Shaggy – Go Down Deh

Spice certainly knows how to make a grand debut, that much is certain. At the official release party for her highly awaited new single “Go Down Deh” that took place this past weekend, the reigning Queen of Dancehall showed up dressed as Cleopatra and resting on a golden sofa held aloft by four muscular bare-chested guys in ancient Egyptian finery. The event took place in Atlanta, which has been something of a second home for the Jamaican-born actress ever since she began appearing as a recurring character on the popular reality show Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, which airs on VH1. The show has been extremely successful.

Following a delay caused by the coronavirus, production of the show has resumed, and the cameras have begun filming the significant launch event for the forthcoming season. Shaggy, a dancehall hitmaker, was present to show his support for Spice on the special night. He and Sean Paul are both featured on the infectiously catchy song, providing some significant star power to the tune, which raced straight to the top of the iTunes Reggae Chart. Spice is a member of the group Spice and the Spice Crew.

As this article is being written, the music video, which was directed by Jay Will and features flashing lights and sensual bodies in motion, is getting close to reaching its first million views on YouTube.
