Video: St. Beauty – Not Discuss It

R&B music fans are in for a treat today (Jan. 19), as the weather is picture perfect. Not only did SiR, the second songbird for TDE, unleash his mesmerising November album, but the female singer-songwriters that are a part of Janelle Monae’s Wondaland collective also dropped a project that is gratifying.

Running to the Sun is the title of a new EP by St. Beauty, which has music that is just as energizingly bright and warm as the name suggests. Alex Belle and Isis Valentine, both of whom were born and raised in Atlanta, make up the Atlanta-bred duet that waxes poetic on overcoming obstacles in love as well as in life, laying it all out for our listening pleasure. The lone real feature on the project is provided by rapper Deanté Hitchcock, a friend of Alex’s from their time spent together in high school.

In addition to releasing the extended play, they also made available the music video for their song “Not Discuss It,” which was directed by Lacey Duke. According to the insightful description of one YouTube user, the two melanin-rich vocalists appear in the video to be “dripping with honey, cocoa butter, and coconut oil.” After you’ve finished listening to the whole album, scroll down to check out “Not Discuss It.”
