It all began with some freestyle raps in her father’s vehicle, which went viral on social media. Now, Houston’s 12-year-old celebrity rapper, Alaya High aka That Girl Lay Lay, is prepared to take over the adolescent market, and you all grown-ups need to watch ya back too!

Lay Lay came into the scene in 2018 with an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that was well received by the audience. Lay Lay is known for having an addictive hook game with bars that can topple stars. In the same year, she released the Tha Cheat Code music project to the loving fans who had been longing for a comprehensive body of work from the effervescent musician. Lay Lay is not wasting any time in taking her ladies along for the trip after laying claim to securing a record contract as the youngest female rapper ever to her own label, Fresh Rebel Muzik/EMPIRE. Lay Lay is bringing her girlfriends on this voyage with her.

Lay Lay and her two exuberant “Tha Slay Gang” group mates, Sweets (originating from South Carolina) and Sugar (representing North Carolina), are destined to dominate every pre-teen birthday party, graduation party, and youth celebration party from here on out as they push their debut song, “Long Hair.” The fast-paced music has a catchy chorus that will appeal to a large number of people and is a lot of fun overall. Lay Lay describes why this is one of her favorite songs, saying, “This is one of my favorite songs because it is fun and something everyone can dance to.” It’s about my pals from ‘Tha Slay Gang’ and I remaining together, working hard, and avoiding any drama that may arise! We strive to put bullies in their place and demonstrate to the world that perseverance pays rewards.

The ladies can be seen in the video leading a group of children in a lit chant of the song’s vocals and letting off one-liners galore, such as “I don’t want no drama/If you go dumb then I’mma go dumber/hot girl winters and hot girl summers/If you knew me Daddy I’m Balenciaga Momma!” The video takes place in a roller skating rink that has been decked out in neon lights. You just can’t help but like the little ones.
