Video: Joey Bada$$ – Land of the Free
Late last week, Joey Bada$$ of Brooklyn released a trailer for his upcoming project, All AmeriKKKan Bada$$, in conjunction with the announcement of his sophomore album. The member of Pro Era who is working on the follow-up to 2015’s B4.Da.$$ has just produced a dramatic music video for his reflective tune titled “Land of the Free.” The film is also politically charged.
The new visuals were directed by Nathan Smith and Joey Bada$$. They follow a group of men and women as they face off against a firing squad as well as members of the Ku Klux Klan. The captivating music video seamlessly transitions into Joey’s equally captivating lyrics.
“Trickery in the system, put my ni**as in prison/All our history hidden, ain’t no liberty given/We all fit the description of what the documents written/We all fit the description of what the documents written/We all fit the description of what the documents written/”Bada$$ raps on the song that “we’ve been lacking the vision and barely making a living / We’ve been too worried to fit in while they’ve been benefiting,” which is the chorus.
