Video: Soulja Boy – HIT!

The music video for Soulja Boy’s most recent single, “HIT,” was released while we are still awaiting the release of his upcoming album, Draco. The song is a quick-strike record filled with idle threats and boasts about the rapper’s lavish lifestyle.

Big Draco displays his cannabis strain, shows off his bankroll, and hangs out with his S.O.D. crew in the video that was directed by Sheeraz Balushi. He raps over the booming production, making it clear that he is all for the smoke, “Trap out a big body/Young nig** pull up with sticks, we gonna hit bout it/Ain’t ask nobody name, man, we shooting out the real body,” making it clear that he is all for the smoke. Soulja, the ultimate hustler, raps about his ascent from the bottom of the food chain all the way to the top with lines like “I came up from trapping and selling them bricks / Finesse the whole world, you can’t have sh*t,” which is a reference to his ability to navigate the industry and continually thrive.

In addition to the release of his single “HIT!,” Soulja has been extremely productive in the recent weeks, releasing a number of singles such as “Rick & Morty,” “Mad,” “Copy & Paste” featuring T.I., and the remix to his single “She Make It Clap” featuring French Montana and Nicki Minaj. In addition, Soulja made headlines with his recent Verzuz matchup against Bow Wow in June of this past year. This matchup was the talk of social media and resulted in competitive banter between the two formerly popular teen idols. Soulja also made headlines with his performance at this year’s BET Awards.
