Video: YG - Stop Snitchin

YG’s newest album sees him experimenting with more cinematically engaging music video material than in previous efforts. The rapper from Compton, California, has been working through his sadness and treating the large crowd to a brand new single from his next album, titled 4REAL 4REAL. These two weekends took place at Coachella.

During his show at Coachella, “Stop Snitchin” called out loose lips from the likes of Tekashi 6ix9ine and others; however, the official video that was released today (April 24) takes a completely different turn and focuses on slavery. YG appears in the video as one of several slaves who are plotting their escape from the plantation in order to find freedom. The visual has a comedic tone. On the other hand, a person who is unwilling to flee ends up getting left behind on the night in question and, as the name of the song suggests, betrays them.

Don’t expect the video to be any sort of conscious offering—it gets a bit odd when he’s hanging from a tree—but if you need a laugh-inducing respite from a stressful day, let a dancing, old-clothes-wearing YG be your relief.
