Video: Kendra Jae – Seesaw ft. Saweetie

The volatile, on-again, off-again nature of partnerships is something that nobody enjoys. Up-and-coming singer Kendre Jae has disseminated the official music video for the song “Seesaw,” which features Saweetie and is taken from the rapper’s Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 album. This was done in order to convey the intended meaning. The “Icy Girl” artist herself was responsible for selecting all of the musicians that appear on the EP, which was released on April 16th. Saweetie referred to the 7-track project as the beginning of a new tradition in which “every summer I’m sharing my platform and dropping a fly a** playlist featuring artists who are up next.”

The visual, which was directed by Slater and stars Dreamville rapper Cozz, goes from fiery and dark to flowery and cheerful in tone, mirroring the dichotomous nature of the romantic encounters described in the song’s lyrics.

“Working with Saweetie on ‘Seesaw’ was a complete and pleasant surprise for me; it is an experience that I will never forget!” Kendra Jae shared with Complex in preparation for the launch of the video. “I made something that was inspired by the events and circumstances of my real life.” Something that I was incredibly passionate about and that I felt needed to be shared with the world because I knew that there were so many similar sentiments that women could relate with.”
